Russell Rescue is a placement service for displaced Jack Russell Terriers. It is a 501(c) corporation funded by donations and support from a network of Jack Russell lovers throughout the U.S. RussellRescue.com.
Sunshine State Jack Russell Terrier Club is a proud supporter of Russell Rescue. The Club donates partial proceeds from club events and supplies on a regular basis. Members also contribute individually as well as Foster and Adopt Rescuees.
Local Russell Rescue representative Audie Sumner and her team do a wonderful job of finding both temporary and permanent 'forever homes' for countless displaced Jacks. BUT this is not a labor of love that is ever completed. As each rescuee finds a home, others come searching...
So How Can You Help?
There are three main ways you can assist these unfortunate Jacks: Donations, Fostering and Adoption. Please consider how you might participate in saving a life.
Donations ~ There is on-going need for the following items:
Cash (of course) for veterinary care and supplies
Crates & Toys
Towels & Bedding
Leashes & Collars
Bowls, Food & Treats

Foster Care
Fostering a displaced Jack requires a commitment to providing a temporary loving and nurturing environment while a 'forever home' is located. Foster parents should anticipate accommodating the dog for a few weeks to a few months. They should expect to focus on welcoming, rehabilitating, socializing and lavishing love on the dog. Necessary veterinary services will be paid by Russell Rescue.
The well-being of the JRT is the primary concern for Russell Rescue. Foster home environments are matched to the individual dog's need. Foster homes must be approved and Russell Rescue welcomes the opportunity to interview anyone interested in opening their home to a Jack in need of shelter.

Adoption
Providing a 'forever home' for a displaced Jack Russell Terrier is the ultimate contribution to the preservation of this breed. Just like other breeds in Rescue programs, there are a multitude of reasons Jacks find themselves in need of a new home. Regardless of what circumstances bring them to a rescue shelter, the need they all have in common is a safe and loving home.
